Global content business Beano Studios today announces the appointment of ex-Vice UK CEO Matt O’Mara to the newly created role of Chief Commercial Officer, reporting directly to CEO Emma Scott.
In his new role at Beano Studios, O’Mara will be developing all aspects of Beano Studios’ commercial proposition, growing key areas of the flourishing business, which includes creative agency services and media partnerships, as well as IP and licensing of show franchises and the commercialisation of Beano’s Gen Alpha research and insight capabilities.
Joining Vice in 2009, O’Mara spent the majority of the last ten years in senior management positions at VICE in the UK, for the last six years leading the UK business as MD and more recently CEO, during a period of transformative growth. His tenure coincided with Vice winning dozens of awards including British Media Company of the Year at the British Media Awards.
O’Mara will work closely with Beano for Brands Managing Director Amy Garrett, who joined earlier this year from Droga5 London, Hayley Granston, Beano’s Managing Director, Commercial, the newly appointed Vanessa Andreis, Director, Franchise Planning and Partnerships, and Angeles Blanco, Director, Global Licensing, as well as the senior management team.
